"American Hustle"y "Gravity", con 10 nominaciones cada una, parten como las grandes favoritas a la 86 edición de los Óscar, anunció hoy la Academia de Hollywood.
"12 Years a Slave", con 9 nominaciones, es otra de las grandes favoritas para la ceremonia del 2 de marzo, que tendrá lugar en el Teatro Dolby, de Hollywood.
"Captain Phillips", "Dallas Buyers Club" y "Nebraska" obtuvieron 6 candidaturas cada una, un peldaño por encima de "Her" y "The Wolf of Wall Street", con 5 nominaciones.
"Philomena" aspira a hacerse con 4 estatuillas doradas, mientras que "Blue Jasmine" y "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" quedaron empatadas con 3 nominaciones.

Por su parte Jared Leto fue nominado por "Dallas Buyers Club", Michael Fassbender ("12 Years a Slave"), Bakhad Abdi ("Captain Phillips"), Bradley Cooper ("American Hustle") y Jonah Hill ("The Wolf of Wall Street"), se disputarán el Óscar al mejor actor secundario.
En cuanto a las mujeres, Cate Blanchett se destaca por "Blue Jasmine" y Sandra Bullock por la cinta "Gravity", en la categoría de mejor actriz. Junto a ellas aparecen Amy Adams por ("American Hustle"), Judi Dench ("Philomena") y Meryl Streep ("August: Osage County").

En cuanto a Latinoamérica el mexicano Alfonso Cuarón ("Gravity") logró la nominación como mejor director, una categoría donde tendrá como rivales a Steve McQueen ("12 Years a Slave"), David O. Russell ("American Hustle"), Martin Scorsese ("The Wolf of Wall Street") y Alexander Payne ("Nebraska").
Se trata de la primera candidatura al Óscar como mejor director para Cuarón y la cuarta en total en su carrera tras las obtenidas por el guión original de "Y tu mamá también" (compartido con Carlos Cuarón), el montaje de "Children of Men" (compartido con Alex Rodríguez) y el guión adaptado de esa misma cinta (compartido con Timothy J. Sexton, David Arata, Mark Fergus y Hawk Ostby).
Cuarón confirma así que es uno de los grandes favoritos a la estatuilla dorada tras haberse impuesto el domingo pasado en los Globos de Oro.
