El cambio climático, las deforestaciones, el derretimiento de los glaciares, la contaminación de ríos y océanos también se volvieron viral en redes sociales. Ver las imágenes de la tierra y cómo ha sido su transformación durante diez años es realmente desalentador.
Durante este reto, que muchas personas utilizaron para mostrarle al mundo si en diez años mejoró, empeoró o sigue igual, se convirtió en uno de los más virales en lo que va del 2019. Lo único cierto con todas las imágenes que se compartieron en redes sociales, es que la salud de la tierra, con el pasar de los años, cada vez es más deplorable.

Greenpeace, una organización ambientalista fundada en 1971 en Vancouver, Canadá, publicó a través de su Instagram una imagen del fotoperiodista sueco Christian Aslund que deja al descubierto el retroceso glaciar que ha sufrido el archipiélago noruego de Svalbard. La comparación se hace del año 1900 con otra del 2002.
